Cheese and Leek Pie

What more can I possibly say, other than “pie” – what’s not to love?! You have the cheese, the leek, the pastry, chips on the side, roasted carrots, a side of broccoli; absolutely fantastic. Try it as an end of week treat, or as your sunday dinner this weekend.

You will need: (Pie for six)

  • 200g Cheddar Cheese, cut into chunks
  • 200ml Half Fat Creme Fraiche
  • 1 Pack of Ready Rolled Puff Pastry
  • 2 Onions, diced
  • 1 Large bunch of Spring Onions, finely chopped
  • 2 Leeks, washed and sliced
  • 1 Egg, beaten


Preheat the oven to 200* and grease a ceramic pie dish.

Mix the cheddar cheese with the creme fraiche. In another bowl, mix the onions and leeks together.

Place a layer of the onion and leek mix into the bottom of the dish, followed by a layer of the cheese and creme fraiche mix. Repeat this process until all you’re left with is a final layer of onions and leeks.

Roll out your pastry and place over the top of the pie. Brush the beaten egg over the top to give it a shiny finish.

Bake in the oven for around 30 mins.

Serve your Cheese and Leek Pie with vegetarian roast potatoes.
