Coeliac Awareness Week: Poached Pears
Poached pears are a great desert for gluten-free or vegan dinner parties.
You Will Need: (Serves 6 Poached Pears)
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Bottle of Cheap Red Wine
- 225g Caster Sugar
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 6 Pears, peeled but whole with stalk
Place the vanilla extract, wine, sugar and cinnamon into a pan on a low heat. Gently lower in the pears and poach on a low heat with the lid on for around 25 mins.
Serve the pears with ice-cream and a drizzle of the poaching juice.
