Falafel

The ultimate vegetarian snack – Falafel is high in protein and full of goodness. It is spicy, tasty and a perfect snack with hummus.

You Will Need: (Makes around 12 Falafel)

  • A dusting of Gluten Free, Plain Flour
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
  • 400g Chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 2 tsp Ground Coriander
  • 1 Chilli, sliced
  • 1 Egg, beaten

Method:

First, fry the onion and garlic together gently with a little olive oil until soft.

In a blender, blend the chickpeas, chilli and spices together, before removing and stirring in the egg, as well as the fried onion and garlic.

Dust your surface with a little flour and roll out 12 balls of the mix. Flatten and fry for 3 minutes on each side.

Serve with salad and a pitta bread, and even a little hummus.
