Raw Pizza
Raw Pizza is one of things that people on a raw food diet didn’t believe could ever be possible. Whilst the word ‘pizza’ is merely a name for this main course, and isn’t _that_ much like a ‘real’ pizza, it’s still a really nice friday night tea, and kids love it too. Don’t be afraid to mess around with the toppings either, and mix it up as much as you like.
You Will Need: (Makes 1 Raw Pizza)
- Large handful of Sunflower Seeds
- Large handful of Pumpkin Seeds
- 4 Walnuts
- 8 Almonds
- A pinch of Oregano
- 1/2 a Small Onion
Toppings:
- 2 Large Tomatoes
- 1 Garlic Clove
- 4 Basil Leaves
Choose From: pepper, dried mushrooms, spinach, salad options
Method:
To make your raw pizza, whizz together in a food processor your sunflower and pumpkin seeds, nuts, oregano and onion into a paste. Spread out the mix into a circular shape. If you have a dehydrater, dehydrate the crusts at around 40*C for 7 hours, but if not, leave your base in the fridge for 24 hours.
In a food processor, blend the tomatoes, garlic and basil into a juice, adding water and lemon juice if necessary. Spread this sauce on top of your base just before serving and then place your toppings on top and serve.
Nutritional Yeast gives the pizza a cheesy taste as well, so you could use it as another topping on your raw pizza.
