This recipe makes some of the best chocolate brownies I’ve ever tasted. It’s a very sweet, rich recipe, so scale back on the sugar if you feel necessary, but it’s an indulgent treat perfect for summer parties!
Preheat the oven to 160*.
Begin by boiling half a pan of water on the hob, and place a pyrex bowl over it.
In the bowl, melt 100g unsalted butter, 100g caster sugar, 75g light brown sugar, 125g dark chocolate (Bourneville works best!) and 1 tbsp golden syrup. Stir until melted and mixed together, and then remove from the heat.
Next, to the melted chocolate mix, add two eggs, whisked, and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix well, before adding 100g plain flour, sieved, 1/2 tsp baking powder and 2 tbsp cocoa powder. I also like to add a pinch of salt to bring out the chocolate flavours.
Fold in the flour, before adding to a lined, 22cm baking tin.
Bake for around 20 minutes.
